Course Details

This basic one-day (7-hour) course designed to introduce caregivers to injury prevention skills and knowledge covering children and infants. The course protocols covers lifesaving first aid skills, bleeding control, childhood diseases, poisons and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR and AED) for children, and infants. This course generally meets legislation requirements for BC early childhood education and day care worker safety requirements.

All courses are taught by certified Canadian Red Cross Instructors.

On successful completion which includes hands-on participation throughout the course and a short twenty-five question written test a certificate valid for three (3) years will be issued.

All Red Cross certificates and textbooks can be accessed by the participant once they are registered into the online Canadian Red Cross system.

Prerequisites

None. Participants must have the ability to understand the course material, actively participate in the hands-on activities throughout the course hours and successfully complete the required written exam.
