EMR Industrial Medic Program

Course Details

The HeartSafe EMS Industrial Medic Program gets you the necessary skills to get you to work as an EMR Industrial Medic.

Construction site. Oilfield derrick site. Pipeline construction. Logging camp. The operative word is a remote location.

It’s a nice sunny day and everything is going along just fine until it isn’t.

The skidder rolls over on a hillside throwing one worker from the cab. The lifting wires for that pipeline section breaks under the strain knocking two workers into the newly excavated ditch for the new pipeline.

What are you going to do? Who is trained to provide emergency medical care? Where is the Ambulance/ETV/Industrial Medic rig? What has the company done to set up emergency medical evacuation plans for the jobsite? Did the company set up helicopter evacuation ahead of time?

The BC Ambulance Service (BCEHS) is at least two hours away over difficult roads.

As a trained Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Industrial Medic you will have the skills to respond to the accident with confidence!

As an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Industrial Medic after completing our program you will have the following skills and certifications:

  • A WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 3 certificate
  • An Emergency Medical Responder certificate
  • ENFORM H2S Alive (Hydrogen Sulfide) and Bear Aware
  • Canadian Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
  • Construction Safety Training System certification
  • Confined Space and Fall Protection Awareness courses

A complete Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Industrial Medic program takes just twenty days to complete. Training will hands-on and take place in the classroom and on-site as required to get you oriented to the job at hand.

HeartSafe EMS provides experienced trainers to provide you with the confidence to act in an emergency and to make you job ready.

For employers to hire employees that are job ready makes so much sense as then they don’t need to provide the training.

Employers are looking for trained people with these skills to provide the necessary onsite emergency medical care to meet their WorkSafe BC regulatory requirements as well.
