Oxygen Therapy Course

Course Details

This two (2) hour course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to correctly identify when it is necessary to administer supplemental oxygen. Participants will learn how to properly and safely handle and assemble the equipment and how to correctly deliver supplemental oxygen through the appropriate delivery device. Course can also be combined with Basic Life Support.

You may be required to have certification in this course if you are an In-facility and health care provider (nursing, care aides, dental industry, medical offices etc.), pre-hospital care groups (fire departments, rescue teams, sports therapists, lifeguards, SCUBA divers, ski patrol, etc.).

This oxygen therapy course combined with a basic fist aid course should give you the confidence to deal with just about any emergency.

All courses are taught by certified Canadian Red Cross Instructors.

On successful completion which includes hands-on participation throughout the course and a short thirty question written test a certificate valid for three (3) years will be issued.

All Red Cross certificates and textbooks can be accessed by the participant once they are registered into the online Canadian Red Cross system.

This course can be used as a prerequisite for the WorkSafe BC Transportation Endorsement (TE) course.

Course Prerequisites

None. Participants must have the ability to understand the course material, actively participate in the hands-on activities throughout the course hours and successfully complete the required written exam.
