Course Details

This 40-hour advanced first aid course is for those who wish to become First Responders with a Fire Department. Often a pre-requisite for joining a fire department.

Topics covered: Part 1 - The Responder Part 2 - Establishing the Priorities of Care Part 3 - Injuries Part 4 - Medical Emergencies and Part 5 - Special Populations and Situations. Includes CPR HCP and AED

A 20 - hour recertification course is also available.

A 3 year certificate will be issued on successful completion. Examinations can also be done to for student's who wish to have a Emergency Medical Assistant (EMA) license at the First Responder Level. You do not have to be a member of a fire department to hold an EMA License.

Successful completion requires 100% attendance, skills demonstration, and 80% passing grade on the written exam.


Prerequisite: 16 years of age and a minimum CPR C certificate.
