Marine Advanced First Aid

Summary

For individuals who need advanced level training for the Marine Industry. The course develops skills needed to recognize and respond to airway, breathing and cardiovascular emergencies in Adults, as well as dealing with shock, musculoskeletal and head / spine injuries, Triage, radio medical advice and pharmacology

3-year certification in Marine Advanced First Aid (MAFA), CPR Level HCP, and AED, and a Transport Canada certification in MAFA

Course length - 32 hours

Prerequisites

Must have Transport Canada issued Canadian Document Number (CDN)

The CDN – Canadian Document number is available from the nearest Transport Canada office at no cost but the student needs to appear in person with two pieces of ID including one that is a picture ID. Students who do not live near a Transport Canada office can have a Notary Public, Lawyer or Commissionaire of Oaths prepare a notarized statement and send that on to Transport Canada for issuance of a CD number.
