Standard First Aid Recertification

Summary

Comprehensive one-day recertification course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need more training due to work or Licensing requirements or those who simply want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home or in public. Often required for those who work in child care or early childhood education workplaces, nursing or dental offices.

The course covers a variety of topics from basic first aid to cardiovascular emergencies, CPR Level C (adult, child and infant), choking and breathing emergencies, bleeding control, and prevention of disease transmission to more in-depth topics such as sudden medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine.

Includes Automated External Defibrillation (AED).

Students must successfully demonstrate skills and critical steps and have a minimum 75% mark on the written exam.

A 3-year certification in CPR C / AED will be issued upon successful completion.

Course length: 7 hours

Prerequisites

Current Red Cross Standard First Aid certification.
